FULL-TIME NURSE SUPERVISOR POSITION (10-Month Term)

About Us

Riverview is a non-profit service provider committed to holistic, person-directed care for individuals with intellectual and physical disabilities and/or long-term mental illness. Our residents live in our Adult Residential Center (ARC) and throughout Pictou County. We're currently working toward an exciting goal: transitioning all residents to community-based living with our multi-disciplinary team's support.

The Opportunity

We're seeking a compassionate and skilled LPN to provide nursing care and supervision to residents at our Riverton location. This is an excellent opportunity for nurses who want hands-on experience in community-based disability services while working with a collaborative, mission-driven team. This 10-month contract position is ideal for nurses seeking meaningful work with a defined commitment period.

What You'll Do

Administer medications, manage medication systems, and maintain accurate documentation. Conduct health assessments, develop care plans, and support residents' wellness as they transition to community living. Provide nursing supervision and mentorship to support staff. Provide medical consultation and support by phone to staff at Riverview's community residential locations throughout Pictou County for non-acute situations. Serve as the sole on-site nursing professional during evenings (after 4pm) and weekends, with nursing supervisor and management backup available by phone. Respond to medical emergencies and changing health needs.

Qualifications

Current license to practice as an LPN in Nova Scotia with minimum 2 years experience. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Demonstrated supervisory experience. Ability to work independently and make sound clinical decisions as the sole on-site nurse during evening and weekend shifts. Comfort working in a sole-charge nursing role with phone support. Ability to organize work safely, efficiently, and independently. Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
