The Laundry Washer & Attendant is responsible for sorting, folding, pressing, delivering all hotel linen in an effective and productive manner.

What you will be doing:

• Demonstrates Fairmont Service Promise Standards and Fairmont Values in all interactions with guests and colleagues.
• Reports any equipment challenges to engineering and works with them to solve issues.
• Sorts all hotel linen from both the guest room and food and beverage
• Records the daily processed linen and all discard linen for the department.
• Conducts daily cleaning of the work area including the removal of lint from dryers
• Ensures that a high level of linen quality control is maintained.
• Ensures that chemical levels are maintained regularly and that the proper safety equipment is used when barrels are changed.
• Adheres to Health & Safety policy and ensuring safe work practices are followed at all times.
• Adheres to the Fairmont Hotel Environmental policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous laundry experience is preferred (1 year minimum)
• Physically able to complete all tasks, Ex. lift up to 50 + lbs at a time able to stand for up to 8 hours per day
• Basic knowledge of laundry equipment is preferred
• Working knowledge of laundry procedures (washing, folding, sorting )
• Basic chemical knowledge- WHMIS training is an asset
• Initiative, a positive attitude, and excellent teamwork skills
• Ability to work with minimum supervision and attention to detail in a busy environment
• Good communication skills for guest and colleague interactions
