Job Description

We are seeking an experienced RN with excellent IV skills to work in our Rheumatology office and infusion clinic.

This position averages 4-5 days per week. Schedule is based on number of patients booked each day. Office schedule is Monday-Friday, no weekends, no holidays. Flexible availability to assist with coverage for staff sick calls, time off, etc. is preferred.

Duties:

-Preparation, administration and supervision of specialized infusion/injection therapies as per protocol.

-Accurate and timely completion of all nursing documentation and maintenance of patient record.

-Collection and reporting of adverse events as per protocol.

-Establishment of a therapeutic relationship with the patient and maintenance of a good rapport.

-Effective coordination of patient care with the healthcare team.

-Provide assistance to the physician when administering steroid injections and joint aspiration done under ultrasound.

-Perform any related duties/tasks as required.

-Adherence and maintenance of high professional nursing standards as per the province, professional associations and of this organization.

Qualifications:

-Valid licence from the Ontario College of Nurses (RN, not RPN)

-RNAO membership

-Current BLS and ACLS certification required.

-Experience with administration of Biologic medications (IV and SC), especially infliximab, is preferred.

-Must possess excellent interpersonal, critical thinking, and time-management skills.

-Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

-Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMRs are an asset. We use Accuro.

-Minimum 4 years of nursing experience.

Wage:

Starting wage is $31/hr.
