Meal Prep Ottawa is a locally owned meal delivery company focused on wholesome, chef-prepared meals. Proudly founded in Ottawa, we continue to grow and deepen our community roots through our online, retail, and airport operations.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced cook to join our team in a hybrid role split between our Transport Canada - Ottawa International Airport service area and our 78 Jamie Ave production kitchen (serving both online and retail store operations).
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced breakfast service environment, demonstrates strong customer-facing and operational skills, and enjoys variety in their workweek.
Schedule
Full-time hybrid (part-time hours at each location)
Airport shifts: Tuesday-Thursday, 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Jamie Ave shifts: remaining weekly hours (flexible daytime schedule)
No evenings / nights
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and serve a moderate-volume breakfast and lunch service at the airport
Provide excellent customer service and process orders using POS systems with confidence and speed
Support daily production at 78 Jamie Ave (meal prep, packaging, restocking)
Maintain prep lists, inventory, and ensure product consistency across locations
Operate and clean kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
Restock and maintain vending machines at the airport
Ensure smooth kitchen and counter operations with minimal supervision
Qualifications
Proven experience as a cook or kitchen lead, with solid culinary and organizational skills
Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) and Kitchen Display Systems (KDS)
Demonstrated ability to handle high-paced breakfast service with professionalism
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong multitasking and reliability during designated hours
Valid driver's license strongly preferred (for flexibility between locations)
Must be eligible for Reliability Status clearance (background check covering the past five years)
