Full-time Contract Community Support Worker Flex until July 2028 - Vacant Position

PROGRAM:

Richmond Hill Learning Academy. Location may be changed based on Association's needs

HOURS:

Hours must be flexible to meet the needs of the team and the people receiving support.

REMUNERATION:

$ 54,258.62 per annum plus benefits as per Association's policy

What You Will Do:

The Full-Time Community Support Worker Flex in the Richmond Hill Learning Academy is responsible for daily programming, updating annual participant documentation, conducting parent support meetings, and creating long lasting community partnerships that aid in the personal and professional development of program participants. You will be responsible for providing support to person(s) who have an intellectual disability to live, learn, work and participate in the community, in order to promote and encourage independence and to exercise citizenship and self-determination. Create meaningful and creative programming that supports the life, social, and educational development of participants in the day program.

What We Need:

Values driven individuals; Post-Secondary Education in Behavioral Services, Developmental Services, Social Services, Education, Recreational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, etc. or equivalent experience is an asset; Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required; G Class Driver's License is required with access to a reliable vehicle; Previous experience supporting persons of various ages and abilities is required; 1 to 2 years of experience in the developmental services sector is considered an asset; Demonstrates developmental services sector core competencies; Hobbies or skills in creative studies are considered an assist Ability to lead others/leadership skills/model, direct and mentor colleagues; Capable of fostering independence in others; Strong advocacy and interpersonal skills; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
