Fullstack Developer, Dmp Team

Toronto, ON, Canada

Job Description

CBC Digital Products is the country\xe2\x80\x99s biggest digital startup, taking on the challenges of innovating how media is made, sent and received. We are also part of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s oldest and truest broadcasting company. We are trying new things. We are growing. As an entity of our own. As a voice for our country. As a team.

Digital is a part of our present and all of our future. CBC\xe2\x80\x99s strategy is focused on becoming a digital-first organization that provides a digital platform for storytellers. Our mission is to engage our audience with stories they care about.

The opportunity

If you want to enter the world of digital media and be part of the change and growth of one of Canada\xe2\x80\x99s long-established and respected broadcasters, this is your chance. CBC Digital Products is looking for a Fullstack Developer to work with the Data Management Platform (DMP) product team to experiment with new ways for CBC to present digital content. This is a key initiative in our Digital Strategy that is garnering a lot of attention.

This is an opportunity for a Developer who wants to learn or expand their knowledge in personalization and work with data on a larger scale to create unique, customized experiences. Someone who is incredibly collaborative and loves to play with Lego.

This is a unique chance for a Developer who wants to be part of not just building but defining and shaping an engaging experience for over 18 million Canadians using a vast amount of data. A Developer who wants to be part of an integral team, and who can take the initiative to seek out collaborative opportunities with other product development teams to guarantee the success of the DMP - and the corporation. Someone who wants to build out the front end personalization elements of MyCBC by designing and developing customization features and recommendations on the CBC website.

If you\'re passionate about Canada and you love technology, learning and bringing out the best in others, you\xe2\x80\x99ll love working at CBC.

Who you are and where are you now?

You are a Fullstack Developer with several years of experience working with multiple languages including Javascript and preferably Java and Python though not required. You are seeking an opportunity to work on a nationally respected and recognized brand in public broadcasting. You balance your technical expertise with relationship building skills and the ability to thrive in a cross-functional team. You are looking for a new challenge that brings together your passion for shaping data into experiences; for customization and personalization. You want an opportunity to join a company with a purpose and with a commitment to supporting your skills development and career progression.

What\xe2\x80\x99s in it for you?

Cutting edge tech: CBC has more than 25 digital sites, all of which are mandated to reach Canadians online everywhere and every way, with a high emphasis on mobile devices. To achieve that goal, with no downtime, takes a robust infrastructure, powerful technologies, reliable solutions and rewarding work. All of which requires stringent automated testing and processes.

Belonging: CBC/Radio-Canada is a Canadian institution. By joining our dynamic Digital Products team, you will be exposed to the best of all worlds. Corporate. Public. Startup. You will be part of a team that embraces diversity and at its core, truly cares about the country and the world.

Career growth: CBC is fully invested in our people. Whatever it is you want to pursue whether it\xe2\x80\x99s a new programming language or a technical solution, whether it\xe2\x80\x99s expanding your Agile knowledge or building an audience-facing platform.
