Position: Fullstack Developer (React & Ruby/Python)
Location: Remote across Canada
Job Type: 6-month contract (potential for extension)
About the Role:
We're seeking a talented Full Stack Developer to join our e-commerce client's engineering team, where you'll help design and build new features and enhancements for a high-impact platform used by both internal teams and external customers.
You'll work across the stack, leveraging React on the front end and Python and Ruby on Rails on the back end to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and deliver high-quality product features with a focus on speed, reliability, and accountability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineering teams to define clear project requirements and execution strategies.
- Architect scalable and resilient systems, ensuring that APIs, deployment designs, and technology choices optimize performance, maintainability, and customer experience.
- Drive continuous improvement across the organization by proactively identifying opportunities to enhance tools, processes, and technical standards.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Recent degree in a technology discipline such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years of experience as a developer building features end to end
- Experience with React, TypeScript, and GraphQL on the frontend - a must
- Experience with Ruby on Rails and Python on the backend - a must
- Self-motivated and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have:
- Previous experience with Go ideal
- Previous experience in a fast-paced startup environment ideal
- Experience working with distributed systems
