Position: Full Time Youth Outreach Worker (35 hours per week)
Wage: $27.54 per hour; as per the collective agreement
Location: Prince George
Summary:
To assist youth (15 - 18 years of age) to live independently: to assist youth in finding accommodation, shopping for furnishing and house hold items, budgeting monthly maintenance money, purchasing groceries, liaising with landlords, attending appointments and increasing communication, social, and daily living skills. Usage of Ansel Casey Life Skills Assessment Tool will guide interventions. YCW will assist Senior YCW with teaching classes related to independent living, arrange, chair and distribute minutes for Integrated Case Management meetings and submit monthly tracking reports. YCW will also participate on the weekend on-call rotation as scheduled by the Program Coordinator.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• A diploma in human service or a related field or at least 1 year direct experience working with at- risk youth, or the equivalent education, training, and experience
• Must have knowledge of community resources, a valid First Aid (Level 1) Certificate and a valid BC driver's license.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Knowledge of principles and practices in the field.
• Good organization and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as a team member as well as independently.
• Must be able to work irregular hours (day and evening shifts).
• May be required to work one-on-one or in small groups in the community and to function independently. Direct delivery of program activities may require a moderate level of physical fitness.
• Must be flexible and have a high level of motivation to effectively deliver programs to a variety of individuals.
• Safe driving record, access to a reliable vehicle, and proof of at least 2,000,000 liability insurance will be required (or will use Agency vehicle as determined by Program Coordinator).
