Job Skills / Requirements

Position: Security Guard

Site: Formet Industries

City: St. Thomas, Ontario

Status: Full Time

Hours: Monday - Friday 0730-1530hr

Pay Rate: $17.50/hr

The facility adheres to US Homeland Security CTPAT (Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism) program access control including inbound and outbound shipments, visitors and contractors. The guard will be required to work outdoors in all weather conditions inspecting and logging truck traffic and completing patrols.

Experience with CTPAT would be an asset. Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service along with good computer abilities are all core requirements.

Duties include but are not limited to: CTPAT Procedures, Weigh Scale Operation, Covid Screening, Access Control, Monitor Security Systems, Conduct Security Patrols, Respond to Emergency Situations.

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:

1. A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
2. Proficient in English (both oral and written)
3. Valid First Aid and CPR Level C Certification
4. Proof of double COVID-19 vaccination
5. Vulnerable Sector Check

Requirements:

\xc2\xb7 Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act.
\xc2\xb7 Able to maintain a professional composure when dealing with unusual circumstances and people under conditions of urgency and in pressure situations.
\xc2\xb7 Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service along with good computer abilities are all core requirements.
\xc2\xb7 Superior written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write clear, concise, and legible reports.
\xc2\xb7 Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy.
\xc2\xb7 Patrol assigned area on foot, as assigned, to ensure personal, building, and equipment security.
\xc2\xb7 Watch for and report irregularities by completing investigations and incident reports, such as security breaches, facility and safety hazards, and emergency situations; contact emergency responders, such as police, fire, and/or ambulance personnel, as required.
\xc2\xb7 Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders and provide specialized security services by enforcing rules and regulations when required.
\xc2\xb7 Offer support to any person in need such as providing good customer service when providing a security presence, such as providing direction, responding to emergency situations involving violent individuals and injuries.
\xc2\xb7 Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Certification Requirements (Any)

Valid Ontario Security License
