The Job Fair will be on Thursday October 16th from 11:00am-2:00pm at Balzac's Distillery District, located at 1 Trinity Street, Toronto, ON.
We are seeking seasonal employees for November 1st, 2025 - January 4th, 2026 to work our outdoor Hot Chocolate and Cider Cabins. Candidates must have full-time, open availability and be able to work the holidays (we will be closed on Dec 25th). Please attend between 11:00am-2:00pm. Be prepared with a copy of your cover letter and resume for an interview and screening.
As a Barista, your main responsibilities include preparing and serving high-quality beverages in a fast-paced environment, providing exceptional customer service, maintaining cleanliness, handling cash transactions, and promoting additional products. Greeting customers warmly, taking accurate orders, and delivering prompt service is essential.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service: Providing friendly and efficient customer service, taking orders, and addressing inquires.
Cleanliness: Maintaining a clean and organized work area, including equipment and seating areas, indoors and outdoors
Teamwork: Collaborating with coworkers and communicating effectively for smooth operations.
Order Fulfillment: Ensuring accuracy in beverage preparation, taste, and presentation.
Cash Handling: Processing payments, managing cash registers, and handling transactions accurately.
Menu Knowledge: Familiarity with menu offerings to provide recommendations and upsell additional products.
Upselling: Promoting additional products or specials to enhance the customer experience.
Time Management: Efficiently managing tasks and maintaining prompt service during busy periods.
Knowledge Development: Continue to use provided web-based training tools to improve skills.
Qualifications
Customer Service: Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain consistency in coffee preparation and workspace cleanliness.
Time Management: Efficiently managing tasks and working in a fast-paced environment.
Cash Handling: Experience in handling cash transactions accurately.
Hygiene and Food Safety: Knowledge of hygiene practices and food safety regulations.
Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours an adapt to changing situations.
Stamina and Physical Fitness: Ability to stand for long periods of time, lift and move heavy objects, twist, turn, and reach above shoulder level.
