Assistant Director of Member Relations RPN plays an important role at Memory & Company. This leadership role will report to the Director of Member Relations ensuring our Members are medically cared for, comfortable, happy, engaged and overall, well cared for while at Memory & Company. 7:00am-3:00pm.
Essential Qualifications:
At least one year of relevant experience as a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
Knowledge and experience working with people with Alzheimer's, related dementia's and memory care
Membership in good standing with the College of Nurses Ontario
Excellent interpersonal, communication, decision-making and assessment skills
Ability to lead a team environment
Physically fit, can sit, bend and stand for long periods of time
Can lift up to 35lbs
Mentally fit to meet the emotional demands of caregiving
Current Standard First Aid and CPR certification
Police Criminal Reference Check, Vulnerable Sector
Mantoux Test to confirm no active TB
Secondary language an asset
Willing to take annual flu shot, unless confirmed by a physician with a medical note.
Possess excellent written and verbal skills for effective communication
Passionate about improving the lives of those affected by memory care
Comfortable with care and assisting our members with ADL's in a private, professional and respectful manner
Keen, energetic, friendly, approachable
Ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
Exceptional organizational, time management skills
Patient, kind, empathetic and very adaptable
Primary duties and responsibilities:
Working alongside Director of Member Relations
Working alongside doctor assisting with doctor days
Medication administration to Members, oversee medication compliance and audits and delegation of tasks
Schedule caregiver meetings, admission intake to discharge, with detailed accurate documentation.
Medication audits, checks, and weekly communication with Pharmacy
Assist with Member Assessments
Updating families of medical concerns and/or issues
Maintaining professional communication through company technology including tablets (iPads) and cell phones (iPhones)
Follow Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority (RHRA) health and safety requirements, procedures and protocols at all times
Maintain a respectful, open-minded, open-communication environment with all team members and family members
Maintain the dignity of our Members at all times
Other adhoc duties as required by the Memory & Company
