Active Podiatry & Orthotics is searching for an energetic, knowledgeable and goal-oriented team player to join our clinic as a Receptionist. We are an organized and patient centered podiatry practice that believes in evidence-based medicine with fantastic customer service. Duties include:
- Greeting patients, getting them to fill out medical history forms, helping them feel welcomed
- Answering phone calls and booking patients using EMR
- Answering all incoming emails in a timely and efficient manner
- Calling patients to book appointments after receiving faxed referrals requisitions from other physicians
- Able to work with the rest of the team and being in charge of the front desk duties
- Providing weekly & monthly performance statistics for owner on every Friday
- Helping with marketing clinic
- Going above and beyond in efficiency in customer service skills
- Collect payments from patients for services and provide them invoices
- Looking after clinic's mail and corresponding to the owner in a timely manner
- Ordering clinic supplies and keeping a log
- Keeping front desk and waiting area tidy and stocked at all times
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in healthcare administration or medical office administration
- 1-2-year relevant experience in working in medical environment
- Advanced organization skills - from email inbox, to file folders, to EMR
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Written communication skills will be assessed by the quality of resume and cover letter sent
- Quick learner, and able to multi task
- Goal oriented with excellent work ethics
- Excellent memory or possess skills to help remember patients for greeting them by name
- Working under pressure with efficiency and able to prioritize tasks at hand
- Experience in working in advanced health care facilities such as dental office, medical specialists' office, and multidisciplinary teams such as physiotherapy
- A passion for health of individuals and communities
- Experience and knowledge of medical vocabulary
- Reliable and physically fit to meet the demands of work
- Reliable means of transportation
- Able to follow instructions and detail oriented
- Go getter and able to independently work and trouble shoot to solve any problems
- Excellent work ethics, punctuality, leadership and team work skills
- Excellent sales skills and self confidence
- References, and police clearance check will be required
Start Date: Immediate
Remuneration: $16/ hour training, $20-21/hour after training given skills and experience. Monthly/Yearly production bonus consideration after 3 month probation period
Hours: Hours will be decided after hiring. Either, Mon - FRI 7:30 Am to 3:00 Pm, OR 7 Am to 3:00 Pm. Hours may vary based on demand.
