Job Description

We are looking for an individual that would enjoy connecting with the seniors in our community and find fulfillment in a job caring for others. This service oriented person would be positive, dependable, self-motivated and would always strive to provide the best service they can to the clients in our care.

This is a full time position working the same 5 days - Thursday to Monday with varying hours. A schedule of hours is provided on a monthly bases. The shifts would be a mix of food service (11am-7pm), daytime housekeeping (9am-5pm, 11am-7pm) and on occasion, overnight housekeeping (12-8am). You would need to be willing and able to work all of those shifts including overnights when they come up. The rate of pay is $21.51 unless working an Overnight shift which is $23.29. Paid sick & vacation time, benefits including pension are also included.

Job tasks for Serving include meal service in the dining room, setting and clearing tables, washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing duties; Daytime Housekeeping includes suite and common area cleaning, dishwashing in the kitchen, etc.; Overnight housekeeping includes common area and kitchen cleaning.

All Seniors' Centre staff are required to have First Aid and respond to any resident emergencies. In addition, they must have a clean criminal record check and current Foodsafe. First Aid and Foodsafe can be completed after starting as a condition of employment.

This position requires Union Membership -- BCGEU Local.
