As a Full-Time Patrol Officer with Paladin Security, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of patients, visitors, and staff in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities:
Conduct routine patrols throughout hospital premises, including hallways, parking areas, entrances, exits, and patient rooms.
Operate and monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and related technology to identify and respond to suspicious activity.
Control access to restricted areas and ensure that only authorized personnel enter designated zones.
Respond rapidly to emergencies, including medical incidents, fire alarms, and security threats; assist hospital staff as needed.
Provide assistance, directions, and courteous support to visitors, patients, and hospital staff.
De-escalate conflicts, manage difficult situations, and maintain professional communication under pressure.
Document daily activities and complete detailed incident reports, security logs, and safety assessments.
Collaborate with hospital staff and local law enforcement to ensure coordinated safety measures.
Enforce hospital policies and visitor protocols while maintaining a patient-centered and safety-focused approach.
Requirements:
Valid Security License for the province of Ontario
Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved vendor)
Proof of two COVID-19 vaccinations
Immunization records for MMR, Varicella, and two-step TB skin test
English fluency (oral and written)
Minimum of 6 months experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field
Comfortable working with a clean-shaven face during shifts (required for mask fit testing)
Ability to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check upon hire
Ability to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Legally authorized to work in Canada
Training for UOF/MOAB is not paid, but Paladin covers costs with a 6-month commitment to the position.
