Cleanliness and precision are paramount, and our cooks take pride in meeting guest expectations with every plate.
The Day to Day:
Execute tasks as directed by the Pastry Chef
Prepare bread & desserts daily for the tasting menu in accordance with aKin's high standards
Follow detailed recipes, portion controls, and presentation specifications set by the restaurant
Maintain an organized prep list of station duties
Use the FIFO method to ensure maximum freshness
Receive and store delivered items properly
Maintain cleanliness in food prep areas, equipment, and utensils, adhering strictly to sanitation, food safety, and hygiene guidelines
Adhere to WHMIS and MSDS guidelines
Perform other duties or responsibilities as required or assigned
Qualifications
1-2 years of pastry experience in a high-paced, fine dining environment
A pastry diploma/degree is an asset
Bread making, cake decorating, piping skills & French pastry techniques
Basic understanding of professional baking terms
Ability to take direction and work calmly and efficiently under pressure
Ability to stand for extended periods
