Community Living Alternative Services (CLAS) is currently hiring for
Full Time
Outreach Support Workers.
This position offers a maximum of 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Position Summary:
This is a front-line community access services role that has responsibility to support and facilitate the development of skills and competencies that will assist persons with disabilities to access their community and fulfill their goals, objectives and aspirations.
Experience:
6 months or more of experience in providing various supports to individuals with disabilities. Post-graduates in support worker/addictions/healthcare fields or those looking for second jobs are absolutely welcome to apply.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Confidently provide frontline, face-to-face support to individuals with varying challenges while they access and interact with their groups and communities of choice
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Solid computer skills with the ability to access and understand websites, MS Office suite, and video conferencing technologies
Professionalism
Positive attitude
Strong time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to maintain composure when dealing with complex reactions and challenging behaviours
Must be able to identify issues, set priorities, and implement an appropriate plan of action
Other:
Must have a reliable car, personal car insurance, and minimum third party liability insurance coverage set to two million dollars ($2,000,000.00)
Valid Class 5 or better driver's license, issued in Canada
Must be willing to use your personal vehicle for work purposes
Successful candidate will need to complete a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Search
