Health Care on Yates is seeking a Full-Time Medical Office Assistant to join our team to support our wonderful Pediatricians
who are a part of a healthcare team that also includes nurse practitioners, registered nurses, and other allied health care professionals. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to patients and their families, supporting Pediatricians in daily office tasks, and ensuring smooth office operations. Key Responsibilities:
Greet and assist patients and their families with a friendly, caring attitude, creating a welcoming environment.
Schedule patient appointments, confirm upcoming visits, maintain waitlists , and manage appointment cancellations or rescheduling.
Perform patient check-ins and check-outs, taking heights and weights when required, and ensuring accurate documentation and collection of necessary forms and payments.
Maintain patient records by entering and updating accurate medical, billing, and personal information.
Prepare examination rooms by ensuring necessary medical supplies are available and rooms are clean and organized.
Assist with medical billing and coding, insurance verifications, and submitting claims.
Support pediatricians in managing patient flow and ensuring a smooth patient experience.
Perform other administrative tasks as needed, including filing, faxing, and mailing.
Inputting and updating Pediatrician schedules in EMR.
Track Pediatrician hours worked at Healthcare on Yates.
Attend weekly team meetings regarding overall clinic workflows and processes.
Answer phone calls, address patient inquiries, and relay messages to appropriate medical staff.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of medical office assistant program or certification is preferred.
Previous experience working in a medical office, especially in pediatrics, is preferred.
Familiarity with medical terminology, office software, and patient management systems.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, parents, and medical staff.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
A compassionate and empathetic approach to working with pediatric patients and their families.
Start Date: As soon as possible, with a 3-month probation period
Days of Work: Monday-Friday and some Saturdays. The clinic is closed on Sundays and Statutory Holidays.
Hours of Work: 8:00 am - 4:30 pm; 11:30 am - 8:00 pm (for a total of 37.5-40 hours per week)
Wages: Starting at $25/hr. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
