Monday-Friday | 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM / 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM

Overtime:

Employment Standards Act (ESA) after 40 hours

We're looking for a Healthcare Security Guard Ambassador to join the team at Kingston General Hospital (KGH) -- a role focused on ensuring the safety, comfort, and support of patients, staff, and visitors in a high-demand hospital setting.

Responsibilities:

Maintain a visible, professional, and alert security presence at all times. Greet, assist, and direct visitors, patients, and staff while providing exceptional customer service. Patrol hospital facilities (interior and exterior), responding to incidents, alarms, or emergencies as they arise. Complete incident reports and maintain accurate security documentation. Enforce hospital policies and procedures, including parking and smoking by-laws. Support hospital operations through patient watches, access control, and key management. Conduct monthly safety inspections and participate in security briefings as needed. De-escalate conflicts and respond calmly and professionally in high-stress situations. Work collaboratively with hospital personnel and law enforcement when required.

Requirements:

Valid Ontario Security Guard License Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a WSIB-approved provider) Ability to be clean shaven to pass an N95 Mask Fit Test Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination (2 doses) Immunization records for: Measles, Mumps, Rubella (MMR), Varicella, Pertussis, and TB Skin Tests (Step 1 & 2) English proficiency (oral and written) Legally authorized to work in Canada Ability to clear a Vulnerable Sector Check (during onboarding) Commitment to a minimum 6-month full-time availability

Applicants who are not immunized or cannot provide MMR-V documentation at the time of hire will not be eligible for this position.

Nice to Have:

Minimum 6 months of healthcare security experience Minimum 6 months of non-healthcare security experience 6+ months of customer service experience Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset Ability to provide Stay Safe certification (or willingness to complete Paladin's paid certification program before onboarding)

Note:

The Stay Safe certification is a pre-requisite. Paladin covers all certification costs with a 6-month employment commitment.
