Position: Security Supervisor

Hours: Saturday & Sunday - 1100-2300

Monday & Tuesday - 1000-1800

Pay Rate: $20.00 /hr.

Position Overview:

The Security Supervisor is responsible for supervising the activities and job performance of Security Guards assigned to all areas belonging to their facility. The Security Supervisor is expected to represent Paladin Security Group as well as the facility they are assigned to.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides leadership, direction, and ongoing coaching and training
  • Ensures all standing orders and scheduled daily activities are carried out as required for each shift
  • Ensures site staff adhere to all Paladin Security and site specific security policies and procedures
  • Plans and implements shift work schedules
  • Ensures all Security Guards have received the mandatory training
  • Motivates staff and issues commendations
  • Disciplines staff when necessary and ensures proper documentation is passed onto head office
  • Attendance Management
  • Performs security audits
  • Documents and investigates security incidents and complaints
  • Provide proactive and reactive security patrols.
  • Communicates any concerns/issues with Client Service Manager
  • Scheduling
  • Emails
  • Reports
  • Audits (nightly, weekly, and monthly)
  • Access control
  • Staff inspections (for additional and base building staff)
  • Overseeing and recording day to day activities
  • Memo inspections
  • Documenting and logging important information with the shift brief (patrols, fire watch, etc)
  • Emergency management skills (fire, de-escalation, use of force and medical).
  • Communication with tenants and building ownership
  • Vendor requests
  • Ensuring debriefing is being completed properly
  • Multi-tasking
  • O&hs knowledge
  • Ability to update and refine current practices to make it more efficient (willing to make changes)

At the time of the interview applicant must be able to produce proof of completion of the following prerequisites:
1. Immunization Record
2. A Valid Ontario Security Guard License
3. Proficient in English (both oral and written)
4. At least two years\' of security experience in a team lead role would be an asset
5. Post Secondary education in a law enforcement/security program from a recognized college
6. Working knowledge of the Trespass to Property Act and Mental Health Act
7. Superior written and verbal communication skills
8. Demonstrated punctuality and reliability, tact and diplomacy

Successful completion of the following requirements provided by Paladin are mandatory prior to placement:
1. First Aid & CPR - Level C
2. Management of Aggressive Behavior
3. Use of Force
4. Report Writing
5. Additional courses as assigned

Upon hire successful applicants will be required to complete the following Paladin online courses:
1. Customer Service
2. Patrol Procedures
3. Diversity Awareness
4. Finding The OHS Manual
5. Paladin OHS Orientation
6. Dealing with People with Mental Illness
7. Workplace Respect
8. Slips, Trips and Falls
9. Additional courses as assigned
