We are seeking a dedicated and experienced individual to join our culinary team as a cook. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food in a retirement home environment. This role requires a passion for food service, strong attention to food safety, and excellent interaction skills. The cook will play a vital part in ensuring our residents receive exceptional dining experiences through efficient meal preparation and attentive service.
Duties
Prepare and serve food items according to established recipes and presentation standards
Assist with food preparation, including chopping, mixing, and assembling dishes
Cook menu items with consistency, quality, and adherence to safety guidelines
Handle food safely by following proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures
Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas throughout shifts
Follow all health and safety regulations related to food industry standards
Assist in inventory management by rotating stock and notifying management of supply needs
Experience
Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred
Knowledge of food handling, safety protocols, and meal preparation techniques required
Familiarity with the food industry standards for cleanliness and sanitation
Experience with cooking or food preparation is highly desirable
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy setting
