Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30am to 2:00pm
No evenings, weekends, or holidays
Pay: Starting at $22 per hour plus tips

We are looking for an experienced, reliable full-time cook to join our cafeteria team located inside the Transport Canada building near the Ottawa airport. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, values a consistent daytime schedule, and takes pride in preparing quality food in a professional environment.

You will be responsible for daily food preparation, cooking, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen while providing excellent service to our customers.

Responsibilities:

Prepare and cook menu items consistently and efficiently Work independently during assigned shifts Maintain food safety and cleanliness standards at all times Manage prep, service, and cleanup Communicate clearly with customers and coworkers Use POS and KDS systems as needed Ensure smooth daily kitchen operations
Requirements:

Minimum 8 years of cooking experience required Food Safety Certification required Proven culinary skills and kitchen experience Previous supervisory or managerial kitchen experience preferred Comfortable using POS and KDS systems Strong organizational and multitasking skills Excellent communication and customer service skills Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently
Security Clearance Requirement:
This position requires eligibility for Reliability Status clearance. Applicants must have a verifiable background in Canada or an allied country for the past five years, with no significant gaps in residency or employment. A background check is part of the process.
