As a Full-Stack Software Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing web applications from front-end to back-end. You'll play a critical role in building robust, scalable APIs and integrating them with modern front-end frameworks like React. You'll work with various technologies, including Node.js, Golang, Python, dbt, and databases such as Postgres, while having the opportunity to explore modern data warehouse solutions like Snowflake. The ideal candidate has a well-rounded skill set, with experience in both the front-end and backend, and a strong desire to create seamless, data-driven applications.
How You'll Lead:
API Development & Integration: Design, build, and maintain RESTful APIs to support both front-end and back-end interactions. Ensure APIs are performant, secure, and well documented.
Front-End Development: Build dynamic and responsive user interfaces using React.js, ensuring a seamless and engaging user experience.
Back-End Development: Work on the server-side logic, data models, and databases using Node.js, Golang, and Python. Design scalable, high-performance back-end systems.
Database Design & Management: Use SQL (Postgres) to design and query databases.
Implement data models and ensure data integrity across the platform.
Data Integration: Leverage tools like dbt for data transformation and modeling, integrating with data warehouses.
Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to develop new features and refine existing ones. Collaborate in an agile development environment to deliver iterative improvements.
Optimizing Performance: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in both front-end and back-end systems, recommending and implementing performance improvements.
Testing & Quality Assurance: Write unit and integration tests to ensure application reliability and code quality. Participate in code reviews to maintain high standards of software craftsmanship.
What You Bring:
API Development: Experience designing and building secure, scalable, and efficient APIs.
SQL Expertise: Strong experience with SQL for building complex queries, creating stored procedures and views, and managing large datasets.
Web Development Tools & Frameworks: Familiarity with modern web development.
Testing: Experience writing unit and integration tests.
Cloud Platforms: Experience with cloud services like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
Containerization & Orchestration: Working experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization technologies for microservices deployment.
Version Control: Proficient with Git and version control systems like GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
Collaboration & Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in full-stack development with focus on data pipelines and large datasets.
Python: Experience with Python for scripting, data manipulation, and integration tasks.
Golang: Knowledge of Go for building high-performance, scalable backend services.
dbt: Experience with dbt for transforming, modeling, and testing data in the data warehouse.
Snowflake: Familiarity with Snowflake as a cloud data warehouse, including its architecture, querying, and performance optimization.
Work Environment
Teams are small and tight knit.
We follow agile software development practices, dividing our work into two-week sprints with weekly sizing & grooming sessions.
Our Victoria office is in a heritage building on the Inner Harbour and employs dozens of software professionals. The building contains a bike room & change rooms with a shower.
You can work from home, our office, or a hybrid of the two.

Salary Range: $105,000 to $120,00
