Who do we need

Securian Canada is seeking a Full Stack Developer to join our growing team. Were looking for a top-notch engineer who takes pride in designing elegant solutions and developing impeccable code. The Full Stack Developer will work within our Lending and Insurance technology teams, building out features and helping guide our platform roadmaps. This role works in a dynamic and fast-paced environment and works with cross-functional teams (including Product Managers, BA, QA, and directly with customers). Our ideal candidate will have knowledge of agile software methodologies and solid experience designing and developing web-based applications using a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).

What will you do

To successfully execute this role, the Full Stack Developer should be able to lead the following key responsibilities:

• Participate in the Agile / SCRUM development process as an individual contributor, assisting in sizing work items and completing sprint tasks
• Develop and maintain code that meets requirements, is high quality, and performs efficiently and effectively
• Maintain software documentation when required
• Participate in efforts to improve software development life cycle processes

What you bring

• Strong analytical, creative problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
• Detail-oriented team player who can consistently provide valuable suggestions and solutions in areas of software development
• Strong verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal skills
• University degree in Computer Sciences, Information Technology / Systems, or related technology discipline
• 3+ years in modern UI development such as Angular or React
• 3+ years experience with Typescript, HTML5/CSS3/Angular Material
• 3+ years experience with State Management pattern and libraries like NGRX
• 3+ years experience with REST APIs (both developing and consuming) as well as integration between systems
• Experience with Git including branching, merging, and merge conflict resolution
• Understanding of an agile development process, specifically with Scrum considered an asset
• Experience in financial services and lending considered a definite asset
