We are looking for a versatile full stack developer with a passion for interesting and complex projects to join the Digital Knowledge Management team. The Digital Knowledge Management team's core focus is to make the customer support experience better for all our frontline agents. Our agents assist thousands of customers every day by leveraging the tools we build to find answers to their questions. Our team is unique in that we support all lines of business across the organization to centralize and unify support content for our agents. Improving the agent experience is a continuous process; by joining our team you will directly influence the lives of thousands of agents and ultimately our customers. As a member of the broader Digital team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with product, content, design, experience, technology and other partners to evolve the business.

Job Responsibilities:
This role will work with a diverse, tight-knit development and product team to build a new, enterprise-wide Knowledge Management application in the cloud. This includes working with other developers to drive a culture of performant code, elegant design and taking the time to create a platform that supports our business.

This role entails:

  • Design and develop backend microservices using the Spring framework to support a new Knowledge Management cloud-based platform
  • Collaborate with other developers on your team, as well as the product, engineering, SRE, UX, business partners and other teams across Rogers to help develop the front-end application solutions
  • Design and develop ETL processes to ingest and transform data
  • Understand and integrate third-party vendor API/SDKs with our backend systems
  • Work with a small team that practices agile product and software development
  • Collaborate with multiple teams (product and tech) across the organization
  • Design and recommend solutions to challenging problems
  • Willingness to learn new tools and technologies to address unique problems
  • Lead and mentor other developers to elevate the entire team's skillset and mindset. Coach others on the team, practice peer-programming and test-driven development.
  • Advocate for the right decisions for the product and the users, think about the big picture but make sure that the small details work.
  • Create an application that's accessible by users with a wide range of needs, one that will scale to many different working environments. (E.g. we will need to support screen readers)
Requirements:
  • B.S. degree in Computer Science or related technical field with equivalent practical experience.
  • 2+ years' experience with AngularJS
  • 2+ years' experience with Java 8+ and Spring Framework (Spring Boot)
  • Hands on experience designing, developing, testing and troubleshooting RESTful API and interface specifications (Swagger, RAML, SOAP)
  • Experience working with DevOps pipelines (Git, Maven, Jenkins), continuous integration/delivery, automated testing (unit, functional, performance)
  • Working knowledge of web-based application architectures and frameworks (including Angular or React) and the way it integrates with services
  • Experience building web pages based on wireframes/mockups provided by the UX team
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services
  • Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Experience with content migration between CMS systems
  • Worked with Contentful in the past
  • Worked with Algolia search engine in the past
  • Experience with solving for complex ETL problems
