Reporting to the General Manager, the Accountant will be responsible for full-cycle accounting and administrative support, ensuring accurate financial reporting and smooth day-to-day operations.
Responsibilities include:
Manage full-cycle accounting in QuickBooks Online, including accounts payable/receivable, reconciliations, and financial reporting for leadership
Review and process invoices, input expenses, track customer payments, and follow up on overdue accounts
Match purchase orders, invoices, expenses and enter data into QuickBooks
Process payments via credit card, cheques, and EFT
Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
Track and maintain inventory and allocations
Administer payroll for hourly and salaried staff, including T4s, WCB claims, deductions, remittances, and benefits
Support GST reporting and year-end processes
Identify opportunities to streamline accounting and administrative
Requirements for the role:
Minimum 3 years of accounts payable and receivable experience
Minimum 3 years of QuickBooks Online experience
Experience with Sage Accounting considered an asset
Solid understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent time management skills
Ability to provide customer service and effectively communicate with management, clients and vendors
Accounting degree considered an asset
