Robert Half is seeking candidates for an excellent Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity. Are you proficient at multitasking, communicating, organizing, and managing your time? You will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions, such as preparing financial statements and establishing and maintaining accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives. The Full Charge Bookkeeper position is a long-term contract / temporary opportunity in Pitt Meadows, British Columbia.

How you will make an impact

- Preparing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet, income statement, and statement of cash flows

- Overseeing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

- Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

- Handling bank and general ledger reconciliations, as well as payroll processing

- Tracking fixed assets and preparing depreciation schedules

- Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

- Maintaining historical records by filing documents

- Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner

Requirements

- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills

- Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

- High school diploma or comparable diploma with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

- Foundational knowledge in Accounts Payable (AP)

- Proficiency in full charge bookkeeping

- Quickbooks Online experience

- Canadian Payroll experience

- Expertise in Microsoft Excel

- Proven flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures and job assignments

- Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

- 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field

- Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience desired

- Experience with payroll preferred

- Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting

- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
