Position Overview:

As a Full Charge Bookkeeper with Payroll Experience in the construction industry, you will play a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records, overseeing payroll operations, and contributing to the overall financial health of the company. This position offers a unique opportunity to work in a fast-paced and exciting environment where your skills will directly impact our success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end bookkeeping process, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger maintenance, and bank reconciliations.
- Process and manage payroll for construction personnel, ensuring accuracy in hours, rates, and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Maintain detailed records of financial transactions, receipts, and disbursements, and organize financial data in an accessible manner.
- Prepare financial reports, statements, and forecasts on a regular basis to provide insights into the company\'s financial health.
- Collaborate with project managers and other relevant stakeholders to track project costs, expenses, and budgets.
- Monitor and reconcile project-specific financial activities, ensuring accurate allocation and reporting.
- Assist in year-end financial reporting, tax preparation, and audit activities.
- Stay updated on industry-specific regulations, tax codes, and compliance requirements.

- 3+ years of relevant experience in bookkeeping

- High school diploma or similar certification with an AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

- Able to work independently with a minimal amount of oversight

- Previous experience with payroll preferred

- Be able to adapt and thrive in constantly changing environments

- Practical knowledge of Payroll Tax Reporting

- Solid understanding of Canadian Payroll

- Comprehension of full charge bookkeeping

- Demonstrated knowledge of Payroll software

- Remittance experience preferred

- Expertise in Full Cycle Payroll

- In-house payroll experience

- Local Payroll Tax experience

- Good understanding of bookkeeping

- Computerized Bookkeeping System experience highly valued

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper, preferably within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and tools; experience with construction-specific software is a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in payroll processing, including familiarity with relevant tax regulations.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, allowing for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- High level of integrity and ethical conduct in handling sensitive financial information.
- Hands-on experience with Government Remittances
- Construction Accounting experience desired
- Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree experience a plus
