Job Description



POSITION SUMMARY The Fuel Services Manager is responsible for the strategic direction and leadership of the overall fuel operations, which includes oversight of logistics, dispatch, drivers and service administration. The Fuel Services Manager must effectively and efficiently manage the development and directions of the operational team to drive the growth of revenue and technical productivity and promote high quality customer satisfaction while building relationships and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations. POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop, implement and monitor process improvements
  • Responsible for appropriate staff levels to meet requirements of the department, including recruitment and performance management
  • Manage the morale in the department by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers
  • Enhance and develop policies, procedures and service systems to meet the goals of the department
  • Monitor financial performance to ensure the department is meeting or exceeding budgetary commitment
  • Work with the other areas of the FLM group to ensure smooth operation across the various departments that share resources
  • Oversee safety initiatives and ensure all staff are following and correctly reporting all Health & Safety directives
  • Oversee and ensure accuracy of tracking, recording, monitoring and reporting all necessary parts of the fuel business
  • Additional duties as required and assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Valid 1A driver\'s license with clean driving record
  • Post Secondary education related to technical services or business
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES
  • Fuel product knowledge and experience hauling fuel is preferred
  • Mechanically inclined and able to identify and do basic repairs on vehicles and equipment
  • Thorough organizational skills and practical knowledge of logistics
  • Effective leadership skills, with a strong focus on operations and business processes
  • A clear and solid understanding and ability to communicate and enforce personnel policies, practices, and procedures
