Position Description



Fulger Transport Inc. is actively seeking to hire a new Fuel Manager to oversee the company's Fuel Program. The ideal candidate would be an ambitious and independent self-starter with the ability to oversee all elements of the program including vendor management, pricing, customer support, financial reporting, access card allocation, operational processes, etc.

In order to succeed in this role, the successful candidate will need:

- A general understanding of the Transportation & Fuel Distribution Industries.

- Strong analytical and administrative abilities.

- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with both internal and external stakeholders.

The main tasks associated with this position include:

- Oversee all aspects of company fuel operations -- fuel card programs, vendor accounts, and pricing.

- Monitor daily fuel usage, purchases, and consumption across the fleet.

- Identify opportunities to reduce fuel waste and improve MPG performance.

- Negotiate fuel contracts and pricing with suppliers.

- Track and analyze fuel data to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud.

- Work closely with dispatch, maintenance, and accounting teams to streamline reporting.

- Train drivers and staff on fuel policies and best practices.

- Service both internal and external fuel consumers.

- Complete operational and financial reporting of the program

- Stay current on fuel market trends and compliance requirements.

Qualifications



Experience: This individual will ideally have at least 3 years of logistics/fuel management experience.

Education: Highschool diploma is required. A post secondary degree within a business discipline or relevant field will be considered an asset.

Skills:

- Strong analytical and negotiation skills.

- Familiarity with fuel card systems (e.g., Comdata, EFS, WEX).

- Experience using fleet management or telematics systems.

- Ability to work independently and make data-driven decisions.

- Ability to work both independently and within a team.

- Extremely organized and detail oriented.

This is a hybrid position offering 1 day of remote work per week

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $65,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
