Kichton Construction LP is the Fort McMurray based Heavy Civil entity within the Kichton Group of companies which has been operating since 1963. Kichton Construction LP commenced operations in 2019 as the industrial division of the Kichton Group to serve the Energy and Mining Industries throughout North America. Since inception, KCLP has grown sustainably and exponentially, starting with 30 experienced team members in 2019, to now over 400 team members and over 300 pieces of heavy equipment. KCLP is proud to continue operating alongside our Community Partner, the Chipewyan Prairie First Nation, as part of our NOHA/Kichton Joint-Venture.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced
Fuel and Lube Technician
to join our Maintenance team at the Fort Hills mine North of Fort McMurray. The ideal candidate has driven a Fuel and Lube truck before in a mine or oilsands setting, is used to working days and nights, driving at night and in adverse weather and road conditions. The ideal candidate has a
class 3 driver's license or a class 5 with an airbrakes endorsement
and a good driver's abstract.
Location/Project Details
Fort Hills Mine, AB
Reclamation, overburden work, mine road maintenance.
12-hour days (paid for 11.5 hours). 14 days on, 7 off. 14 nights on, 7 off.
Camp accommodation is provided.
Flights are provided to and from Edmonton or Calgary. Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after rotation).
Compensation/Benefits
$30 - $35 per hour based on experience
Overtime after 8 hours per day or 40 hours per week, whichever is greater
9.6% vacation and stat holiday pay on all regular hours
Performance/competency review after 90 days which could result in a $2.00 per hour increase.
$2.00 per hour bonus that is paid out quarterly to those that do not have safety infractions, disciplinary actions, equipment damage or missed flights.

What You'll Be Doing
Lubrication service and maintenance of a variety of equipment including, Excavators, Dozers, Rock Trucks, Heavy Haulers, Graders, Scrapers and Loaders.
Diagnosing & completing preventive maintenance on all company equipment.
Greasing booms, pulleys, buckets, and other components of heavy equipment.
Lubricating running gears or moving parts of automobiles, trucks, or heavy equipment.
Performing work effectively and safely in shops or outdoor construction site environments.
Ensuring service trucks are kept clean, organized, and always maintained properly and ready for use.
Championing our safety culture by adhering to Morgan's Safe Work Procedures and PPE policies.
Showcasing your exceptional judgement and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrating your versatility by collaborating effectively with team members and independently taking ownerships of tasks.
Safely operate tandem fuel and lube trucks on main roadways and inside the mine.
Qualifications
Must be able to repetitively lift up to 50lbs.
Minimum of 1 year of work experience as a Fuel and Lube Technician required.
Previous experience driving a fuel, water or rock truck required.
Class 3 driver's license preferred or a class 5 with airbrakes
Good driver's abstract
Can pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
