About the Role
Are you passionate about recruitment and HR processes? We're looking for a Staffing Specialist to join our team. As a Staffing Specialist, you play a critical role in ensuring Alpha House has a committed and engaged workforce by managing the agency's staffing needs. This position requires strong relationship-building skills, time management, and the ability to handle multiple recruitment processes from job posting to onboarding. You will work closely with Program Managers to support new hires and transitioning employees, helping them integrate seamlessly into their roles and our organizational culture of supporting those struggling with addiction. Your responsibilities will include:
Maintaining employee records securely and in compliance with privacy legislation and accreditation standards
Analyze recruitment efforts and report effectiveness using tools like Excel and PowerPoint
Respond to employee inquiries regarding group benefits, pay, scheduling, and other HR matters
Track and communicate performance management reviews to appropriate managers
Assist with HR research and projects as needed
Provide coaching and guidance to Managers on internal and external recruitment, selection, and hiring processes
Develop recruitment strategies and build a strong recruitment network to meet staffing requirements
Advertise job openings internally and externally using platforms such as BambooHR and other online job boards
Organize and participate in internal and external job fairs, making presentations as needed
Manage the full-cycle recruitment process, including sourcing, pre-screening, interviewing, reference checks, offer letters, and onboarding
Ensure accurate documentation, authorization, and communication of position changes and offer letters to payroll
Oversee onboarding and collaborate with hiring managers, payroll, and scheduling to provide a smooth orientation experience
About You
We are looking for a dedicated HR professional with strong recruitment and organizational skills. The ideal candidate will have:
Post-secondary education in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience
At least one year of recruitment experience
Experience working with and interpreting a Collective Agreement is an asset
Experience working in a health related field or vulnerable populations is an asset
Strong communication, relationship-building, and influencing skills
The ability to make sound judgments requiring confidentiality, tact, and diplomacy under tight deadlines
Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR databases
An understanding and compassion for the services provided by Alpha House
