Job Description

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a full-time Registered Pharmacy Technician to join our amazing team at Neighbourly BC Central Fill Solutions in Burnaby, BC.

Technical & Accuracy Skills

Blister pack verification: High attention to detail in checking for correct medication, strength, lot number, expiry, and packaging accuracy. Knowledge of automation systems: Familiarity with central fill automation (BD Parata Ultra(Synmed) or similar blister packaging machines). Medication knowledge: Understanding of common drug names (brand/generic), forms, and dosages to identify errors quickly. Regulatory compliance: College of Pharmacists of BC standards relevant to central fill operations. Quality assurance: Ability to follow double-check procedures, document discrepancies, and escalate errors appropriately.

Communication & Collaboration Skills

Communication: Clear and professional communication with community pharmacies regarding blister pack queries, order discrepancies, and delivery timelines. Conflict resolution: Ability to handle discrepancies or urgent store requests calmly and diplomatically. Team collaboration: Work effectively with pharmacists, fellow technicians, and assistants to maintain workflow and resolve bottlenecks. Documentation: Accurate and timely entry of communications, interventions, and resolutions into tracking systems.

Inventory & Operational Skills

Inventory control: Monitoring stock levels, ordering medications, and preventing shortages or overstock. Process optimization: Identifying and suggesting workflow improvements to reduce delays or waste.

Organizational & Professional Skills

Time management: Prioritizing high-volume workloads and urgent orders efficiently. Problem solving: Rapidly addressing issues and problems. Adaptability: Flexibility to handle shifting store requests, volume fluctuations, and unexpected issues. Continuous learning: Staying updated on new medications, packaging technology, and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:



Licensed and in good standing with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia. Familiarity with the Synmed automation system or equivalent experience with other automation systems is advantageous. Prior work experience in a central fill setting or long-term care pharmacy is preferred. Excellent oral and written communication abilities. Strong leadership skills and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
