Reporting to the Food Store Manager, responsibilities for this position include the following:
To come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude.
To be dependable for all scheduled shifts.
To receive, warehouse, unpack, check, deliver and ship merchandise on a regular basis in all departments.
To maintain current and accurate records of all merchandise entering or leaving the unit warehouse in accordance with prescribed procedures.
To be familiar with the lines of merchandise handled in the various departments to the degree required to identify possible errors when merchandise is being received.
To advise the responsible manager of the merchandise received, and to move it into position for placement on the floor or for storage, as required.
To process receiving records, packing slips and invoices and distribute them to the responsible managers on a daily basis.
To assemble damaged merchandised as received in the warehouse and advise the responsible manager for markdown recording and claims preparation.
To initiate claims for damaged or short-shipped merchandise as assigned.
Receive/Process direct vendor delivers ensuring they are correct and damaged free.
To maintain the warehouse in an orderly, organized manner.
To keep aisles and exits clear of obstruction at all times as required to comply with existing fire regulations.
To unpack, uncrate, and otherwise prepare for shipment and receiving such items as heavy hardware, major appliances, home entertainment goods, etc.
To be responsible for the security of the warehouse area - receiving doors locked at all times except when receiving or shipping merchandise; in and out shipments properly accounted for.
To maintain constant alert against unauthorized removal of merchandise.
To adhere to all Saskatoon Co-op policies and procedures.
To operate all equipment in a safe responsible manner.
Other duties as assigned.
