Job Description

Our client, one of the largest electrical energy suppliers in Canada, has an immediate need for a Front-End iOS App Developer. This is a contract position for one (1) year located in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Description

The Front-End iOS App Developer will join a dynamic team that creates innovate solutions to help employees work safer and more efficiently.

Accountabilities

  • Participate in workshops to understand client's goals, explain findings from user research, present designs and solicit feedback on user experiences
  • Create solution design documents, operational guides, functional specifications, etc.
  • Work with external technical teams to implement/configure custom mobile applications
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Collaborate with other team members and stakeholders
  • Build, test, and review mobile applications; coordinate delivery across technical and development teams; and monitor E2E delivery following the architectural direction and technical design approved by the developer lead, industry best practices, and standards and guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain the operations framework by performing operational routine sustainment activities and bug fixes efficiently and on time to support multiple project and sustainment teams across the organization.
  • Manage mobile application change requests, address Tier 3 incidents, and update the mobile app use case inventory to centralize the administration and support of different mobile applications
  • Lead design thinking workshops with the customer to gather business requirements and translate them into functional specifications to support business operations and projects in achieving organizational objectives.
  • Review and analyze existing mobile solutions and assist with researching, evaluating and recommending COTS apps, innovations, and related hardware and software to continuously improve mobile solutions
  • Define and maintain custom mobile app delivery SDLC and COTS mobile app sustainment procedures to accelerate and guide future mobile application development initiatives.
  • Provide ongoing guidance and expertise on the design and support of mobile infrastructure to functional, technical, and consulting teams as required to continuously build mobile development capability
Required
  • 3 or more years of experience developing mobile applications using Swift and UI5 technologies
  • Bachelor's degree or technical diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have worked with any of React Native, Node.js or TypeScript
  • Experience working with SAP Mobile Services, SAP Asset Manager and/or Mirata Forms is an asset
  • Experience working with GitHub and GitHub Actions is an asset
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs, OData and containers is an asset
  • Ability to iterate designs and solutions efficiently and intelligently
  • Ability to be self-directed, but also work effectively in a team setting
  • Ability to work effectively under an Agile Scrum framework
  • Expert technical skills in building mobile applications with the following libraries, frameworks and languages
  • Good working knowledge of Asset Suite and TIBCO Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) platform
  • Excellent technical skills in the following custom point-to-point interfaces:
  • SAP ECC
  • GIS (ESRI ArcGIS)
  • Small World (GE)
  • Labsys
  • Microsoft Exchange Server
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • FileNet (document repository)
  • Passport
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with clients to understand detailed requirements and design forms/roles that meet client needs and vision
Additional Information
  • Successful candidate must be local to the metro Vancouver area, and willing to work out of the office 1-2 days per week. This is non-negotiable.
