GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION AND PURPOSE
The Front of House Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of food and beverage services at the City Centre Grille, Patio 37, and Langford Lanes. This position requires a dynamic leader who excels in communication, fosters a positive and motivated team environment, and consistently upholds operational standards.
Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of guest service, maintaining a clean and welcoming atmosphere, and ensuring staff adhere to established protocols. The supervisor must lead by example - providing clear direction, coaching team members, and offering timely course corrections when necessary. A strong emphasis is placed on delivering exceptional customer service, team accountability, and ensuring that every guest experience is memorable and exceeds expectations.
Additionally, the role requires a commitment to responsible beverage service, ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations. Attention to detail in cleanliness and organization is paramount, contributing to a professional and inviting dining experience. By balancing leadership, operational oversight, and service excellence, the Front of House Supervisor is instrumental in maintaining the reputation and success of these hospitality venues.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee serving and bar staff in the absence of the Front of House Manager.
Training & Development:
Train staff in drink preparation, food handling, sanitation protocols, and customer service best practices, as needed.
Educate team members on liquor control regulations and licensing standards and ensure compliance.
Financial & Administrative Duties:
Review cash outs to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial procedures.
Maintain operational documentation and ensure compliance with all organizational expectations and requirements.
Customer Engagement & Service Excellence:
Check in with customers, address concerns, and resolve complaints promptly.
Uphold high hospitality standards to enhance the overall customer experience.
Serve as Host/Hostess, welcoming and seating guests, notifying servers of new tables, and assisting with bussing and running food (when required).
Coordinate with the kitchen to ensure smooth communication and timely order fulfillment.
Event & Special Function Coordination:
Collaborate with the Events Coordinator on implementation and execution of special events and functions.
Provide operational support for large gatherings, preserving service efficiency.
General Operational & Sanitation Standards:
Maintain a high level of cleanliness in Front of House areas.
Ensure all service areas meet health and safety regulations.
Uphold the quality and consistency of food and beverage presentation.
Bartending & Service Duties:
Perform bartending and serving responsibilities, when required.
Handle cash transactions securely and accurately.
Ensure all team members follow established procedures and provide guidance as needed.
Monitor workflow and proactively address operational challenges.
Offer hands-on support during peak hours to maintain smooth service.
Ensure that organizational checklists are being completed and that the work meets operational standards.

Bartending and/or serving experience is an asset.
