The Bench is a casual, family-friendly bar conveniently located on the second floor of Cardel Rec South between Arenas 3 & 4.

Our menu offers more than just typical concession fare, with a variety of fresh, flavourful dishes, a tasty selection of local craft beers, and a special menu designed just for kids.

We are seeking a positive, experienced Front of House Supervisor who prides themselves on providing excellent service, and works well in a team environment.

The

FOH Supervisor

at The Bench is a crucial leadership role, responsible for upholding the restaurant's high standards in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager. You'll be the backbone of our front-of-house operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences and a smooth, efficient service while performing general bartending and service tasks.

Key Responsibilities:



Lead from the Front:

Maintain an active and engaging presence on the floor, directly supervising and connecting with guests to ensure their satisfaction.

Team Development & Oversight:

Train and mentor FOH staff in correct service procedures, comprehensive product knowledge, and customer service best practices. Demonstrate and enforce a high level of professionalism in all customer interactions, holding front-of-house team members accountable to the same standard at all times.

Guest Experience Champion:

Proactively seek feedback from patrons to continuously enhance guest experiences. Skillfully resolve any guest issues, communicating outcomes and key learnings effectively with the management team.

Operational Excellence:

Ensure all tables and customer-facing areas are impeccably set up, consistently maintained, and kept clean, contributing to a welcoming and lively atmosphere. Guarantee the team's safety, ensuring they practice safe service at all times. Address problems and troubleshoot operational challenges efficiently as they arise. Conduct required FOH inventory counts accurately to support effective stock management.

Financial & Administrative Acumen:

Ensure all administrative functions are performed accurately, including precise cash handling and credit card transactions. Confidently perform refunds and apply discounts when necessary, adhering to company policy.

Compliance & Cost Control:

Ensure the restaurant consistently adheres to all

SFCRA Standards

. Proactively manage staffing levels to align with business volumes, making smart decisions to cut staff when necessary without compromising service quality.

Interdepartmental Support & Communication:

Communicate operational concerns clearly and promptly with management. Provide essential supervision to the kitchen in the absence of kitchen manager, addressing customer issues, monitoring labor control, and upholding Health & Safety standards. Other duties may be required as requested

Requirements :

Previous Front of House experience would be considered an asset Must have Pro-serve certification and be at least 18 years of age. Ability to communicate in a professional manner with team members and guests Knowledge of liquor, wine, and beer Outgoing personality Excellent interpersonal skills
