Job Summary

Ma's Soups & Sandwiches is opening in Welland and will be offering homemade soups and hearty sandwiches made with care and fresh ingredients daily featuring a takeout only structure. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Food Service Counter Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional customer while ensuring food is prepared and served in accordance with safety and sanitation standards. You will handle inquiries, resolve issues, and ensure customer satisfaction while promoting our menu items. The ideal candidate will be able to manage time effectively and handle transactions with accuracy and will contribute to a positive experience for our customers.

Responsibilities

Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, and chat in a timely and professional manner. Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for processing customer orders and payments Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper cash handling procedures. Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers and taking orders. Handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively to ensure a positive experience. Assist in upselling menu items to enhance the customer experience and increase sales. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely food preparation, service delivery and overall customer satisfaction. Monitor inventory levels of food service supplies and report needs to management Monitor and update social media posts daily Maintain a thorough understanding of company policies, procedures, and menu items

Skills

Strong communication skills in English (bilingual skills are an asset) with outstanding customer service skills Previous experience in the food industry is preferred with experience in serving food and beverages is a plus Familiarity with cash handling procedures and superb math skills for accurate transactions. Excellent time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment Skilled in producing social media posts A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Job Type: Permanent

Pay: $17.60-$18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 25 - 40 per week
