Our client is seeking a Front End - Senior Software Developer
Key Deliverables for Front End - Senior Software Developer
Product Requirements & Delivery: Design and implement responsive, accessible, and visually engaging front-end interfaces using modern frameworks (e.g., React, JavaScript/TypeScript). Translate technical specifications into tested, production-ready applications, ensuring compliance with AODA and WCAG 2.0 standards.
Prioritization: Develop and extend GIS-based web mapping applications using VertiGIS Studio, Geocortex, and ESRI SDKs. Customize viewers and tools based on user needs, integrating workflows and external services to enhance functionality and user experience.
Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, define product strategy, and create user stories and acceptance criteria. Participate in agile development cycles, design walkthroughs, and beta programs to refine product features.
Technical Integration: Consume and interpret GIS services via ArcGIS REST API, Server, and Portal. Apply structured methodologies to design, develop, and maintain scalable applications. Provide post-implementation support and resolve technical issues.
Accessibility & Public Sector Experience: Deliver intuitive UI components that meet accessibility standards. Demonstrate experience working in complex, multi-stakeholder environments, particularly within the Ontario Public Service or broader public sector.
Must haves:
Experience customizing mapping applications using GIS SDK's
Experience developing and extending features within web mapping applications using JavaScript/TypeScript and modern frameworks such as React
