Position Summary



The Front End/Duty Manager is responsible for overseeing the team of cashiers, the entire operation of the store during their shift, and ensuring that customers have a positive shopping experience. This role includes managing the checkout process, supervising cashiers, scheduling, and maintaining the appearance of the front end and the overall store. The manager ensures efficient service, addresses customer complaints, handles cash discrepancies, and coordinates with other departments to support store operations. The Duty Manager acts as the point of contact for staff and customers and ensures that service standards are maintained.

Job Structure



This is a full-time salaried position. Work schedule includes weekends and holidays as required. Paid vacation accrual at 4%. Health insurance plan and life insurance benefits are available after 6 months of employment. Any necessary technology hardware and software will be provided.

Responsibilities



Front End Responsibilities



Supervise and coordinate the activities of front-end staff. Ensure that checkout processes are efficient, accurate, and provide excellent customer service. Manage the front-end area to ensure it is clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies. Handle cash discrepancies, returns, exchanges, and refunds, ensuring compliance with store policies. Responsible for managing all cash handling procedures. Primary point of contact for POS system support needs. Train, mentor, and support front-end employees, including onboarding new hires. Monitor customer traffic and adjust staffing levels as needed to minimize wait times and optimize service. Create, manage, and optimize the work schedules for front-end staff, ensuring that we are adequately staffed at all times to meet customer demand and operational needs. Accurately monitor and maintain inventories, the flow of merchandise, and weekly orders for Front End specific product and materials. Ensure staff reviews are complete in a timely manner on a consistent basis. Managing and ordering all front end inventory.

Duty Management Responsibilities



Act as the primary point of contact for staff and customers during assigned shifts. Oversee the entire store operation, ensuring that all departments are functioning efficiently and according to store standards. Address customer complaints and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security policies, including opening and closing procedures. Manage emergency situations, including accidents or other incidents, following store protocols. Coordinate with department managers to ensure product availability, proper merchandising, and overall store readiness.Train cashiers on their job duties, ensure they are aware of and adhere to all relevant policies and procedures. Be knowledgeable on disciplinary practices and apply them as necessary. Create a work environment that fosters teamwork and focuses on continual growth. Ensure staff reviews are complete in a timely manner on a consistent basis.

General Customer Service



Demonstrate excellent customer service skills by greeting and serving customers in a friendly and efficient manner. Go above and beyond when taking care of customer inquiries. Address, manage and resolve customer complaints with professionalism and ensure the end result is customer satisfaction.

Qualifications



Education and Training



High school diploma or equivalent

Skills and Experience



At least 1 year experience in a previous manager or supervisor role. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to contribute to a team culture in fast paced work environment. Passion for food and community. Demonstrated organization skills. Basic math skills.
