The position available is a mixture of 7a-3p and 3p-11p. General Hotel Information: We have 65 guest rooms, limited service property with one meeting room. An excellent team with a very low turn over rate. All staff have been here for years. Looking to add one more. - Experience with Hotel PMS. We use Five Star Hotel Systems - Greet guests and patrons as they arrive - Ask if guests have a prior booking - Manage the registration process - Ask for identification and ensure that the provided credentials are accurate - Handle guest check-ins and check-outs appropriately - Operate hotel switchboard, take calls and provide information and transfer calls - Manage accurate accounting of all rooms - Provide guests with room keys - Take reservations over the telephone, through emails and in person - Answer queries regarding the hotel\xe2\x80\x99s services, charges, dining facilities, and travel directions - Refer guests to appropriate departments to resolve complaints or provide suggestions - Compute bills and take payments - Provide guests with directions around the hotel - Contact housekeeping and maintenance departments when a problem is reported - Explain appropriate use of keys and ensure that guests are satisfied with the rooms allotted to them - Balance cash at the end of the shift and generate accounting reports for the benefit of the next shift - Inform management of any discrepancies in front desk operations - Communicate with staff on the previous shift to manage guests\xe2\x80\x99 arrivals and reservations - Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks on the front desk - Offer guests advice on local shopping and eating areas - Issue safety deposit boxes to guests when requested Previous hotel and accounting experience an asset - Experience with Hotel PMS. We use Five Star Hotel Systems - Extremely reliable and dependable - Experience in a guest services role - This position requires a friendly, helpful individual who is able to assess the needs of our guests at all times - Proven ability to be organized, detailed, efficient and work under pressure - Maintains an appropriate appearance and hygiene when on duty - Adheres to all hotel policies regarding security, safety procedures, walk-in check in and guest confidentiality - Applicants need to have a positive demeanor and be a team player - Must be flexible with shifts, am/pm, weekends and holidays - Excellent communication skills, speaking, reading and writing - Needs to be great at multi-tasking with strong customer service skills Salary: $17.00-$20.00 per hour Work Location: In person
