Position Overview:

Sales Counter Associate in our Finishing and Moulding department is responsible for all sales functions in a professional manner for counter customers by providing prompt and efficient service to achieve maximum sales and customer satisfaction. Strong professional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal with conflict resolution recommended

Principal Responsibilities:

Exhibit a positive, friendly and helpful attitude with customers by developing a professional relationship with them Assess customer needs and provide expert advice on any products Communicate effectively with customers, store associates and management to exceed all client sales and service expectations Maintain a professional demeanor and attitude with team members, customers, store associates and managers while performing work Follow up on orders and answer calls Keep up-to-date with new products and their technical applications Ensure compliance with procedures and company standards Record and complete transactions with sales orders Ensure and participate in the maintenance of sales counter area Comply with policies and procedures regarding loss preventions and breakage of goods Adhere to company policies and procedures as per the Employee Handbook Perform other duties as requested by management

Knowledge, Skills, Ability and Experience:

Extensive knowledge with doors, moulding and finishing materials an asset Previous experience in lumber, or construction supply industry an asset Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills with customers, employees and management to exceed sales and service expectations Enjoy working with people; providing customer service excellence Positive attitude and proven ability to work under pressure Analytical and have excellent problem-solving skills, with above average math skills and

attention to detail a must

Flexible and able to adapt to operational needs and deadlines Work in a settling with a high sense of urgency and drive; able to set priorities and deliver results within deadlines and ability to remain calm in stressful situations Autonomous and dependable, while working in a team and contributing to the overall company goals Proficient computer skills

Working Conditions:

Ability to stand and/or sit for an hour, or more, at a time Ability to lift items weighing 3 lbs. to 35 lbs. Subject to temperature extremes in warehouse: Hot, cold, Availability of hours Monday through Saturday, during store hours; Flexibility required to accommodate operational demands Other duties as assigned
