The Opportunity: 5-6 month work term: May \xe2\x80\x93 Sept 2023, eligible for part time after. How You Will Contribute: The Operations Engineering team is looking for an energetic individual to provide support of Ciena\xe2\x80\x99s assets & stations management within the Operations Engineering lab and manufacturing locations environment. The individual will report to the Lab manager and work in collaboration with sw engineering on the following: Responsibilities include:

• Supporting the lab stockroom and maintain accurate inventory control records
• Use of our inhouse inventory tracking system (CATS) to record incoming deliveries, purchases, shipments, RMA returns and asset disposals as per defined processes
• Following generated reports, update inventory control databases with current information using hand-held barcode scanners or other method.
• Conduct physical or systems inventory of Optical systems and lab equipment, investigate data discrepancies working with extended teams, provide thorough report of findings and corrective measures.
• Use of the Jira tracking system to monitor and complete all assigned jobs and requests
• Help maintain stockroom and lab cleanliness by picking up unused equipment, fiber cables, empty esd bags, and empty totes.
• Assist senior software engineers with stations sw inventory, searches, programming and investigations (virtually to each manufacturing locations internationally.)

The Must Haves:

• 2nd/3rd year engineering degree in SW/Data science.
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Apps (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Knowledge of Linux and Windows operating systems
• Inventory/warehouse experience, test equipment knowledge an asset.
• Exceptionally detail oriented, Customer oriented
• Strong team player, Strong Initiative
• Strong organizational skills
• Bilingual(Eng/French).

Ce qu\xe2\x80\x99il sera attendu de vous : L\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9quipe d\xe2\x80\x99ing\xc3\xa9nierie des op\xc3\xa9rations est \xc3\xa0 la recherche d\xe2\x80\x99une personne \xc3\xa9nergique pour fournir un soutien \xc3\xa0 la gestion des \xc3\xa9quipements et des stations d\xe2\x80\x99essais de Ciena dans l\xe2\x80\x99environnement du laboratoire d\xe2\x80\x99ing\xc3\xa9nierie des op\xc3\xa9rations et des sites de fabrication. La personne rel\xc3\xa8vera du gestionnaire du laboratoire et travaillera en collaboration avec les ing\xc3\xa9nieurs logiciels sur les points suivants : Ses responsabilit\xc3\xa9s sont les suivantes:

• Soutenir l\xe2\x80\x99entrep\xc3\xb4t du laboratoire et maintenir des registres de contr\xc3\xb4le des stocks pr\xc3\xa9cis
• Utilisation de notre syst\xc3\xa8me interne de suivi des \xc3\xa9quipements (\xc2\xab CATS \xc2\xbb) pour enregistrer les livraisons entrantes, les achats, les exp\xc3\xa9ditions, les retours RMA et les cessions d\xe2\x80\x99actifs selon les processus d\xc3\xa9finis
• \xc3\x80 la suite des rapports g\xc3\xa9n\xc3\xa9r\xc3\xa9s, mettre \xc3\xa0 jour les bases de donn\xc3\xa9es des \xc3\xa9quipements avec des informations \xc3\xa0 jour, \xc3\xa0 l\xe2\x80\x99aide de lecteurs de codes-barres portatifs ou autre m\xc3\xa9thode.
• Effectuer un inventaire physique de l\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9quipement des essais, enqu\xc3\xaater sur les divergences de donn\xc3\xa9es en travaillant avec des \xc3\xa9quipes \xc3\xa9largies, fournir un rapport complet des conclusions et des mesures correctives.
• Aider les ing\xc3\xa9nieurs logiciels seniors avec l\xe2\x80\x99inventaire, les recherches, la programmation et les enqu\xc3\xaates des stations (virtuellement aux sites de fabrication \xc3\xa0 l\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9chelle internationale.)
• Utilisation du syst\xc3\xa8me de suivi Jira pour suivre et compl\xc3\xa9ter toutes les t\xc3\xa2ches et demandes assign\xc3\xa9es.
• Aidez \xc3\xa0 maintenir la propret\xc3\xa9 des entrep\xc3\xb4ts et du laboratoire en ramassant l\xe2\x80\x99\xc3\xa9quipement inutilis\xc3\xa9, les fibres, les sacs et contenants ESD vides et le recyclage.
