In this dynamic role, you will use your editing expertise to develop clear, engaging, and accurate curriculum materials that support learning across the province. You will collaborate with educators, policy advisors, and content creators to ensure every word reflects the government's priorities and meets the needs of diverse audiences. From fact-checking and proofreading to developing your specialized glossaries, your work will directly influence how education is delivered. About the job

In this impactful role, you will coordinate and provide French language writing, editing, translation and proofreading services. Every day may be a little different but you can expect to:




conduct research required for the preparation of curriculum documents and related materials edit and proofread documents in French, ensuring they are written in clear language and are consistent with standards and policies provide writing and editing services for various publications in French contribute to editorial policies, writing standards and guides by researching new terminology and providing guidelines on preferred French usage in the OPS

Mandatory requirements



you must possess oral and written French language skills at the superior level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire

Written communication skills




You can:

apply French grammar, spelling, vocabulary and punctuation to write and edit materials including the translation of complex material into plain language while maintaining accuracy write, edit, and update curriculum material and other documents before publication to ensure that they are clear, accurate, consistent with copyright approvals and suit the intended audience apply knowledge of writing and editing practices for academic materials, including text organization, layout design and writing styles to edit text for French usage

apply research practices to find reliable sources and gather useful information on a variety of topics (ex. copyright requirements, layout designs, editorial practices and English to French translation requirements)
