Role Summary
As a Freight Officer, you will oversee the end-to-end movement of goods, ensuring shipments are executed efficiently, cost-effectively, and in full compliance with international regulations. This role serves as a central point of coordination between clients, carriers, customs, and internal teams--ensuring seamless, timely transportation across global markets. The ideal candidate excels in logistics operations, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrates outstanding attention to detail and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor the full lifecycle of shipments, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client specifications.
Source, negotiate, and maintain relationships with carriers and logistics partners to secure competitive rates and reliable service.
Prepare, review, and process shipping documentation (bills of lading, customs declarations, invoices), ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable trade laws and regulations.
Act as the main point of contact for clients, providing proactive updates, addressing inquiries, and ensuring a positive customer experience.
Quickly identify and resolve issues such as delays, damages, or customs challenges, minimizing disruption and maintaining client satisfaction.
Analyze freight options and processes to recommend cost-saving strategies while upholding service standards.
Stay updated on international trade laws, customs protocols, and transportation standards to ensure all operations remain compliant.
Maintain comprehensive shipment records and generate regular performance and cost analysis reports for management.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related field (preferred; equivalent experience considered).
