We are seeking a skilled Freelance IT Support professional to provide remote and on-site technical assistance to clients across various industries. This role involves diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues, managing IT infrastructure, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, extensive technical knowledge, and the ability to troubleshoot complex IT problems efficiently. This is a flexible freelance position suitable for individuals with proven experience in IT support and network administration.
Duties
Provide technical support for hardware, software, and network issues across diverse operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Troubleshoot software problems related to Microsoft Office, Active Directory, SCCM, GPO, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, TCP/IP protocols, and other network services.
Manage computer hardware repairs, upgrades, and maintenance for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and servers.
Configure and support IT infrastructure components such as LAN/WAN networks, Meraki devices, Cisco switches, and firewalls.
Assist with desktop support tasks including user account management via Active Directory and BMC Remedy.
Monitor network performance and security using tools like ServiceNow, Jira, and network administration best practices.
Document issues and resolutions accurately within help desk systems while maintaining clear communication with clients.
Conduct analysis to identify recurring problems and recommend improvements to optimize IT operations.
Support remote connectivity solutions such as VPNs and troubleshoot related issues to ensure seamless access for users.
Requirements
Proven experience in technical support roles with expertise in software troubleshooting, computer management, and network administration.
Strong knowledge of operating systems including Windows (Windows Server), macOS, Linux, and mobile device management.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, TCP/IP protocols, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, GPOs, SCCM, BMC Remedy, ServiceNow, Jira, Meraki networking devices, and TCP troubleshooting.
Ability to diagnose hardware failures and perform repairs or coordinate replacements effectively.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
Strong analysis skills to identify root causes of issues quickly and implement effective solutions.
Ability to work independently as a freelance contractor with minimal supervision while managing multiple client requests efficiently.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or Cisco certifications are preferred but not mandatory. This position offers the flexibility of remote work combined with on-site support as needed for client requirements. Candidates should demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for delivering high-quality IT support services.
