Who you are
You have a worked in the health care system, including experience in a leadership role for a minimum of 5 years. You possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree in a health or social science discipline. Demonstrated understanding of Public Health's core functions and mandates, as well as the principles and best practices of population health. You have additional training in project management and organizational change/improvement (an asset). A master's degree is also an asset, you have the ability to work with minimal supervision and possess strong organizational and time management skills. You have a proficiency level in Microsoft Office applications.
Written and spoken competence in English is required at an advanced level.
You have experience in
Supervising health care professional teams (in person and/or virtually)
in program planning and evaluation;
a facilitation model, change management, and quality improvement which are assets.
translating data in knowledge of current public health issues and trends; along with experience in report writing and presentation skills;
executing organizational culture change;
working collaboratively with internal and external partners;
working within a complex and rapidly changing environment;
negotiating, informing, and shaping strategic direction;
moving knowledge to action
What you will do
Provide day-to-day oversight and operational support to Public Health programs and staff
Support the goals, policies and vision of Horizon Health Network and meet provincial Public Health program standards and guidelines
Participate in monitoring, and evaluation of the quality and safety of Public Health services
Oversee hiring, orientating, and training of new employees
Develop and manage performance, conduct yearly performance reviews
Responsible for issues related to staff: e.g Attendance Management and/or progressive disciplinary processes
Prepare, manage, monitor, and report on budgets and ensure fiscal responsibility
Oversee building and maintenance issues
Membership on local Professional Practice and Joint Health and Safety committees
Travel throughout the region as required
Some evening and weekend work may be required
