Role: Franchise Development Director - EA Sports Dev Ops

We\'re looking for a talented Operations leader to join our team. Onsite or hybrid based in Vancouver and reporting to the Director of DevOps, we\'re looking for motivated candidates with experience in managing high performance operations teams and leading large-scale projects in dynamic environments. You should have a passion for teams and technology. This is a great opportunity to join our multi-disciplinary team who strive for innovation and operational excellence in supporting our Sports titles in development and live operations.

You will lead and manage the team\'s operations and execution in partnership with the Director of Dev Ops. You will provide oversight for the development and live operations, with a strong focus on uptime and predictability. With an eye for what matters and balancing the scope of work across different contexts, you will deliver using systems that scale. You will excel in partnership management and diplomacy with leaders throughout the organization including VP level and above.

Responsibilities:

Experience in Operations:

  • Building and running production and internal business critical services.
  • Establishing and evolving critical reporting and data analysis to drive pragmatic and data centric decisions
  • Maintaining an efficient deployment pipeline through the use of configuration management.
  • Driving best practices in Change Management to ensure Uptime SLAs are being met.
  • Managing critical live issues and driving resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to a seamless \'follow the sun\' structured approach across all sites to support any unplanned and critical activities.
  • Ensure great service and high-quality customer service standards.
Collaborative Leadership:
  • Building and evolving a great team.
  • Building and maintaining effective working relationships with your immediate team and any external developers.
  • Partnering with external and internal shared service teams to deliver on project requirements.
  • Building and energizing the team by exhibiting a positive approach to inspire others to excel.

Execution:
  • Establishing and assigning task objectives from defined project goals; achieving project deliverables through managing a team at a project-level.
  • Proactively assessing and mitigating risks for assigned scope.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to manage scope and quality.
  • Constantly looking at ways to increase efficiencies, promote sustainable practices that facilitate predictability, consistency, and a healthy work/life balance for team members; analyze and improve existing processes and procedures.
Business Management:
  • Making decisions around the balance between quality/time/cost and directing the team accordingly.
  • Providing input to project budget and budget planning process; adhering to and tracking budget.
The successful candidate will have:
  • People management skills, especially the ability to challenge and develop talent
  • Understanding of project management methodologies; can model systems and reports using Excel, JIRA, Word, PowerPoint, Google Suite of products and other EA standard tools.
  • Experience tracking and managing multiple projects including establishing project plans: project charters, scope, capacity, and project budgets, managing risks, determining task dependencies, assigning tasks, and implementing operational changes.
  • Risk identification and mitigation experience
  • Project ownership: see projects through despite obstacles and difficult circumstances, demonstrating a sense of dependability and commitment
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, recognizing and balancing priorities and identifying new methods to deal with issues.
  • Ability to learn quickly and apply new concepts, principles, and procedures to maintain solution-oriented approaches while dealing with change and you deal with ambiguity by asking questions or championing solutions.
  • Minimum of 8 years project management or team leadership experience.
  • University degree of Bachelors or equivalent professional experience
  • Effective communication skills across all levels and organizations.
