Who are we?

We're

Sprucehill Homes

, an award-winning, progressive, and industry-leading mid-to-high-end custom home builder and renovator. Most of our projects are on the North Shore (Deep Cove to Lions Bay), but we do occasionally venture into Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, and Maple Ridge. Basically, if you can see a mountain, there's a chance we're building something under it.

Right now, we're looking for a

Framing & Forming Carpenter

to join our team -- someone who can handle a hammer and a set of blueprints like a boss (and no, not that boss, we're cool).

What We Need:

We're specifically looking for someone who can, with minimal direction, successfully complete tasks like:

Framing and Forming

residential single-family homes for renovations, additions, and new builds.

Reading blueprints

like they're your favorite novel (and no, it doesn't count if they're upside down). Leading a team to build things that make other carpenters go, "Wow, they did a good job."
Occasionally, you'll also help the team with:

Demo work

(Peter Gabriel's song Sledgehammer comes to mind...).

Exterior finishing

(rainscreen, window trims, soffits, siding, shingles -- basically, the stuff that makes a house look chef's kiss*).

You'll be a good fit if:

You've got

at least 4 years of experience

working on single-family residential job sites. You've been

framing and forming

for at least 4 years. You can

read blueprints

better than you can read that terrible handwriting on grocery lists. You have a

hunger to learn

(no, not pizza -- that comes later). You've got

most of your own tools

(bonus points if you're not emotionally attached to any of them). You can give

clear instructions

and follow them, too (you're a team player, not a solo artist). You're

knowledgeable about building codes

and know how to keep inspectors happy. You're

comfortable with technology

-- no, we're not asking you to code a website, but tech makes everything better, even carpentry!
What We're Offering:

In exchange for your skills and experience, we're offering

$38 to $45 per hour

, plus:

Health benefits

(because let's face it, climbing ladders and swinging hammers isn't exactly gentle on the body).

Mileage allowance

(up to $0.55/km when using your vehicle for work-related business).

Fuel price offset

(because gas prices make us all cry a little). Potential for a

cell phone allowance

Continuing education and training funding

(partial or full). LOTS of room for advancement (we're growing, and we want you to grow with us)!
