This is a FT role and involves reading blueprints, preparing layouts, measuring and cutting materials, and assembling structures according to building codes. Framers may also install windows, doors, and other components.
Key Responsibilities Details
Layout and Installation
Framers read architectural plans and blueprints to determine the layout of walls, floors, and roof structures. They then use measuring tools and building codes to accurately cut, shape, and assemble materials.
Material Handling
Framers handle and work with various materials, including wood (2x4s, 2x6s, plywood), lightweight steel, and other construction materials.
Install windows, doors, stairs, and other fixtures, ensuring quality finishes.
Problem Solving
Ability to adapt to on-site challenges and solve problems as they arise, working with other trades to complete the project.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with hand and power tools, and an understanding of carpentry techniques are essential. The ability to read and interpret architectural blueprints and plans is crucial. Knowledge of local building codes and regulations is necessary.
Framing work can be physically demanding, requiring lifting, bending, and climbing.
Own tool belt with tools is required
Able to perform physical labour jobs, including standing/walking for extended periods, performing repetitive tasks, and lifting materials up to 50 lbs. for up to eight hours at a time
Must have steel toe boots, safety vest, hard hat, safety glasses and other PPE may be needed
Client facing position: respectful communication and neat and tidy appearance is a must
Excellent communication skills with the ability to follow verbal or written directions, a high sense of urgency, and a team player attitude

Salary Range:
$32 - $38 per hour depending on experience
