The Role




This Snr Manager, FP&A is responsible for driving MEC's full-cycle corporate planning process, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and KPI performance management. Acting as a key strategic partner to senior leadership, this role builds scalable financial frameworks, delivers insights to support decision-making, and leads process automation to elevate MEC's financial operations. With people leadership accountability, this role also develops and mentors a high-performing FP&A team while partnering cross-functionally to improve profitability and enable long-term business growth.

This hybrid role requiring you to be in the office a minimum 2 days a week from MEC's HO in Vancouver.



As the Snr Manager, FP&A you'll:



Manage Full-Cycle Corporate Planning / FP&A Process



Understand and support development of long-term business strategy and key operational /strategic decisions Oversee creation of annual budget through partnership with key business leaders, ensuring a scalable process with KPI and expense tracking at appropriate levels Oversee development of multi-year standalone financial forecasts with full P&L, cash flow and balance sheet Manage quarterly re-forecast process to communicate timely progress against business targets

Financial Operations / Reporting



In partnership with Financial Reporting team, ensure delivery of accurate and timely reporting for internal leadership team, external stakeholders, and Board of Directors Hold departmental leaders accountable to their results and KPI's through a best in class monthly reporting and review process Support business partners with the development of analytical tools to support decision making Highlight key trends and opportunities for product margin improvement including strategic inventory buys, markdowns and pricing, and product mix Partnering with the merch and label teams to create long term product sales and product margin modelling

Key Business Partner



Develop value-added financial analysis for senior executives Ensure financial analysis and insights are provided to operational stakeholders on a timely basis

Process Improvement and Automation



In conjunction with the BI team, create a scalable and process driven monthly process to report on the health of the business and provide real time operational updates to leadership on specific metrics Process improvements to analytical tools and internal reporting to increase automation of FP&A functions Build the infrastructure to further automate and manage KPI reporting on a go-forward basis

People Leadership



Oversee the hiring, training and performance management of the FP&A staff including managing performance of direct reports. Assist with the development of strategic and tactical plans for the FP&A group.

What you bring:



5+ years of progressive experience in FP&A Chartered Professional Accountant designation Strong data analytics & Excel skills Demonstrated skills in strategic planning and process improvement. Proven ability to interact, communicate effectively and collaborate with Executive leadership and all levels of staff Detailed knowledge of financial systems; Microsoft Dynamics D365 and Microsoft BI an asset Adaptable, strong business acumen and attention to detail Must be able to address multiple issues in a high paced and rapidly changing environment. Time management skills are critical. Excellent written and verbal communication skills

The Compensation & Perks!




This is a permanent role with the anticipated salary range of

$106,000 - 132,600 base + bonus

. The exact salary will be dependent on the successful candidate's relevant skills, experience, qualifications and internal equity.
